Technology’s advancements have placed in jeopardy the job security of many individuals. Their fear is that they will soon become obsolete – that a cheaply-produced and easily-programmed robot will supplant them from their position, offering management structures a mechanical employee that will cost pennies on the dollar; that will never request vacation time; and that will never call in sick. What does this mean for human labour?
Sir Wilfred Grenfell
“The service we render to others is really the rent we pay for our room on this earth. It is obvious that man is himself a traveler; that the purpose of this world is not ‘to have and to hold’ but ‘to give and serve.’ There can be no other meaning.” Explore the life of Sir Wilfred Grenfell!
The Black House: An Artist Having Fun
The Black House is a campus of 8 or 10 buildings that holds an eclectic collection of macabre, sombre and surreal art. The artist certainly brought out the dark side of humanity when he furnished the place with his art. Thought provoking, entertaining, amusing, sensual, primitive – good fun. Take your camera!

Can I Think?
When you can challenge the assumptions of your past or how it should be according to the rules of others, then you are indeed a free thinker and a free human. I’ve realized that perhaps a thinker isn’t a trained person as much as they are innately born to do so.
Cappadocia: A Moonscape Viewed From Above
In the dry, dusty centre of Turkey, as the first light hits a strangely sculptural sandstone landscape, a giant nylon orb peeks over tall, spindly stone fingers. Then another, then scores more. Within minutes, the dawn sky is filled with 100 hot-air balloons; a candy-coloured kaleidoscope that is as mesmerizing as the strange moonscape above which it floats. A daily occurrence in one of Turkey’s tourism hotspots.
