Have you ever had that feeling, that sinking feeling that you forgot something important but can’t quite pin the tail on the donkey? That you are somehow blindfolded to your own omissions but everyone around you on public transit seems to have X-ray vision? Well, imagine how Earth feels when she has a wardrobe malfunction…Oh that sinking feeling.
The Creation of Turtle Island – Ojibwe Creation Story
Every culture and tradition has its version of creation stories. According to my tradition, the Ojibwe, the universe was created by Kichi-Manitous with the express purpose of the ability to vision, to dream all that was possible – of manifesting everything we know and those unseen things and then birth it into being.
A Double-edged Curse
Have you ever lost a loved one? War, disease, pure accident. They all occur every day. Any veteran of life can tell you that, with a hard edge to their eyes that whispers, “I’ve been there.” But what about that nagging ache inside us to exact some form of…balance, or perhaps even justice?
How to Follow Your Own Path
Are you following your own unique path? Or are you living a life built on someone else’s expectations? We all have dreams, goals and passions but sometimes they become so blurred by the expectations of society and others around us that we might wonder how we came to the point we find ourselves at.
The Cause and Effect of Conscious Experience

Taking Care of Yourself While Dealing with a Sick Loved One
There are many positive and supportive ways to incorporate wellness into your daily life while coping with the stress of a loved one’s illness.
Purging the Pure
Genocide, racialism, the Holocaust, they are each horrific examples of purity being deployed as a justification for crimes of war. They are the worst examples, antithetical, ultimately, of what it really means to be righteous. And who is it who declares that these people are ‘sub-human’? Who is it who cannot see past their opaque egos?
Multiculturalism in Action
The spacious dining room was buzzing with the lively accents of women from Israel, Hong Kong, Germany and the Philippines. Others born in Mexico, Thailand, the U.S., Indonesia, and yes, even Canada, completed the luncheon group that day, an intercultural gathering of friends who have shared times like these for the past 25-plus years.
