So what distinguishes the amateur from the professional, a study by partypoker set out to answer the question. Six players, two beginners, two intermediate and two experts were observed playing forty minute sessions of Texas Hold’em poker. All the participants wore electroencephalography (EEG) headsets by Emotiv and the data was then converted to colour coded brain maps. The brain activity of amateurs and experts were then compared at key stages of the game.
Facing the Demon Inside/The CoDe-mon
Feedback tells me that the inheritance of ability and power to write better code will not be revealed until ‘bad conditioned behaviour’ has been abandoned. It’s like an archetypal/archeological dig into DNA; into the code itself.
The ‘Lazy’ Habits That Actually Make You More Productive
When people say they are disappointed in themselves because they weren’t very productive, they usually mean they had a whole long list of things to do and barely managed to do half of them – even though they woke up early and carried on almost all through the night. But productivity is about more than how much you get done in a day, it is about getting as much done as possible, in as little time and with as little effort as possible.

Grad School Gave Me the Courage to Change Careers
To submit or not to submit. That was the choice I was to make as I contemplated applying to grad school for the third time. The first time had been a hard reject from a Library of Information Sciences program.

My Little Buddy
It’s been 20 years since I’ve heard her laugh, dried the dishes while she washed and enjoyed her company over cookies and coffee. Only one cookie allowed per cup, by the way. That was our rule.
NRA – Stop Promoting Guns
We as global citizens, even if not American, have a right to demand the end of deaths, the end of murders and the end of what we can only see as a love of guns. We love our American friends and neighbors.
