When Dorothy peered behind the curtain in The Wizard of Oz her world fell apart. All that she hoped for, all her dreams, all her plans dissolved in the sudden awareness that no great and powerful being could save her, could rescue her from the suffering of loss or satisfy the cravings that beset her, and her companions.
I know just how she must have felt.
It’s hard to imagine a time without money but in fact such a time did once exist. When humans first began living off the land, there was no need for money. We only owned what we could carry and there was very little reason to trade.
Everything that sucks in life happened in 6 months….my cat died, I got a “divorce”, my step father died, ( suddenly and at a very young age ), my mother died 5 months later of a broken heart, ( they were married 30 years ) and then my other cat died.
