The Book Keepers
If you can’t find happiness in the silence of your thoughts, you will never be able to find it with another.
Doggone it! When Is Your Dog Wrong?
How do we know when our dog is “doing it wrong”? The immediate answer would seem to be that the dog is not doing the behaviour as requested (cued, commanded, choose your word). On the face of it, it seems a pretty easy thing to determine. But if we dig a little deeper, we could ask why our dog isn’t performing as we expected. And this is where it gets interesting.
How To Be Human
Author Nick Bantock reminds us that we all have the capacity to be more compassionate but that occasionally, we need to be reminded.
Minute to Freedom #35: Fear of Success

Japan — Remarkable History, Culture and Resiliency
Japanese seem to love high-end Western style stores. There are plenty of them throughout the city but we loved the small shops and bustling local malls, many of them pedestrian-only and running for blocks. The ubiquitous 100 yen shops, similar to our dollar stores, are terrific places for souvenirs and unique sweets and biscuits (ideal treats for folks back home).

Attention Zoomers: Evolution Does Not Know How to STOP!
Despite the zealous attempts by Moses Znaimer and virtually every other ‘cool’ Zoomer of my generation, an apparently self evident fact is being ignored. The fact? Zoomers are no longer actually cool or with-it, yet they (we for many of us) are in deep denial of this.
Brace Yourself
The instalment was nothing short of terrifying. Watching the dentist lean over my face with instruments reminiscent of weapons of torture in my mouth made for an awkward appointment. Returning home and examining my new “teeth jewellery” almost reduced me to tears. Not only did they dominate my teeth, when I closed my mouth, it lead to a slight protrusion where the braces were, making me look like some sort of disgusting gorilla-monster.
Strawberry Lemonade
Pink lemonade? Forget about flavor crystals with artificial color and evil aspartame. This simple homemade version is so light and clean, so good and so good for you, you’ll want to have a pitcher in the fridge for the rest of the summer.
