A red deer in Freyr forest, near Han-sur-Lesse, Belgium. The red deer (Cervus elaphus) is one of the largest deer species. The red deer inhabits most of Europe, the Caucasus Mountains region, Asia Minor, parts of western Asia, and central Asia.
