The Saddest Story Ever Told
When Mama told us stories, or sang to us, I usually sat closest to her right side, often resting my head on her knee. As the story progressed, from time to time she stroked my hair, a soothing practice she shared with all her seven children. The story she was about to tell us, of the two champions, Sorab and Rustom, was the saddest story we were ever told.

Sometimes the most important thing we can do when we are training out dog is…nothing. How else will we find out what our dog knows if we don’t pause to see what they know? It’s a lesson my own dog taught me years ago. It has led to a delightful give and take that allows me to learn from her as as learns from me. Sometimes you just have to wait for the dog!
Veterans Day 2014 – Part One
All she had ever wanted was to go home, to have a cup of tea and a piece of toast with strawberry jam in a white kitchen at the table with a yellow cloth and Snoopy dishtowels on the backs of the chairs.
