It doesn’t matter if you have a stressful job or if you just feel as though you have a lot going on at home because it’s understandable that sometimes, you’ll just want to kick back and relax. If you just don’t have time to do this then you are certainly not alone. That’s why we have compiled this list, so you can relax in 10 minutes or less.
Get outside
It doesn’t matter if you are just able to get out for a few minutes. You should always make your mental health a priority. Vitamin D can be a natural booster of endorphins, not to mention that fresh air can really help to rejuvenate you. Just take a quick walk to escape your environment for a little while. You won’t regret it and it doesn’t take long to reap the benefits at all.
Breathe
If you’re feeling super stressed, then focus on your breathing and positive thoughts. When you do, you will be able to center yourself naturally and will find that you feel better as a result. A great example of this is the Thich Nhat Hanh three breath meditation technique. Humanities Professor Peter Bolland shares a great version of this here.
Meditate
Meditation is a fantastic way for you to truly unwind. Sure, meditation isn’t for everyone, but you never know unless you give it a go. If you have never meditated before then you have nothing to worry about because there are so many apps that you can download and when you do, you will be talked through all of the steps that you need to take.
Play Games
Sometimes nothing compares to putting your feet up and playing a good game. You can find a lot of different games at the NetBet UK casino if you don’t have time to get into something more complex that has a long tutorial.
Speak with Someone
If you are not able to cope with your situation at home or if you feel as though you just need to talk things out with a friend, there is nothing wrong with this at all. You can speak with someone over the phone or you can even just speak with a trusted colleague as well. When you do, you will feel your stressful thoughts drift away and take your attention off of the stress. Often, speaking with someone provides answers to problems that we just could not see on our own.
Stress Balls
Never invested in a stress ball before? Then now is certainly the time for you to look into that. A stress ball will help you to let go of your physical tension and can also really help you to unwind. The best thing about a stress ball is that you can take it with you when you go to work, or you can just keep it in your office drawer.
So de-stressing doesn’t have to be difficult and if you follow the above tips then you will soon find that it is easier than you might have thought for you to unwind during the day. Why not try multiple techniques to get the best result?
