Daybreak – Mount Baker
Each day when I rise I look towards the Eastern horizon awaiting the sun to break through the veil of night with its warming rays. I breath in deeply thankful for another day. My Eastern horizon is dominated by Mount Baker and the Coastal Mountains which provide me endless inspiration.
Sail Away
Following a stormy week the skies started to clear and the sea calmed enough to this sailor to head out of the safe harbour for the next destination. As I painted this 24×30 I thought of the old quote “Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover”.
Playing with Fire
Just how I feel after diving into a painting and emerging only after the nectar has been consumed and the painting has gained momentum. And I am almost staggering because the energy that pulls you in is intense. It falls into the category occupied by dark chocolate, sex, designer shoes etc.
A Few Years Ago I Lost My Mind
Everything that sucks in life happened in 6 months….my cat died, I got a “divorce”, my step father died, ( suddenly and at a very young age ), my mother died 5 months later of a broken heart, ( they were married 30 years ) and then my other cat died.
Cityscapes
New York, London, Rome, Budapest are some of the towns which delight me.
The drawings are strongly inspired by these cities or they show an amalgamation of any of these exisiting places. It takes between two weeks and half a year to finish each piece, altough I work on several pieces at the time.
