Tree up, fire on, CBC classical background
the past lingers, a spectre
ornaments twinkle in the half-light, ghosts
what has been, has been, now distant and with bittersweet pangs
the motions of the season taking on a hollow tone, memories
brought back in flickers, like a guttering candle
pleasant in small doses, a past like a previous addiction, vanquished
