So she, she has become the music, the swagger, the swing; she is making her way across the room, across an ocean of notes – tap, slide, rock back and forth, to and fro, up and down, below, below the charismatic smile that forms on her face.

Why Is That Dog There? – A Rant
Some dogs get to go everywhere with their owners. Others go whether they like it or not. Dogs can develop fear or anxiety about social situations for lots of reasons. But we have the power to help them cope in a larger social world beyond our homes. The first step is recognizing their fear and managing things to help them succeed.
The Galapagos: Beware of Humans Bringing Goats and Other Creatures
Earlier this month Miami-based Ecoventura provided us with an opportunity to sail on their 20-passanger motor yacht, the M/Y Letty, through the eastern Galapagos islands to see for ourselves the environmental state of this archipelago chain. Art Inspired by Africa & Conservation
Field sketching in Africa is my life-drawing class, a speed-sketching session in which I have no control over when my subject appears, what it will do or how long it will stay. In contrast, my studio paintings are all about creative control – of subject, composition and color.

Napa of the North: Canada’s Okanagan Valley
Barrel tasting great wine, hanging out with friends in a lavender field, and picnicking al fresco in a vineyard surrounded by beautiful mountains. What a perfect day in Napa. Except for one thing. I’m not in Napa, California. I’m in Canada’s Okanagan Valley.
Charivari
Dressed in costumes to disguise their identity, people in rural communities would visit the home of newly married couples to offer their mock serenade, with horns, whistles, drums, and wild dancing.
The Fun and Freedom of Abstract Photography
I moved in close to graffiti on a stone wall. The curving lines and the black and white contrast reminded me of Zen calligraphy. There’s something about curving lines that is appealing to me. They remind me of the flow of life.
