The world of design is constantly evolving and every year designers are pushing the limits of imagination. What are the designers up to now? What’s coming up? Here are three design innovations that might be big tomorrow.
Windows Of The Future
Dreaming of a room with a view? This possibility is now at hand, thanks to Winscape. Winscape is a set of two virtual windows, which are in fact HD flat screens framed in painted wood, imitating a window frame to perfection. The set comes with a movement detector you can attach to yourself: when you move around, the image adapts and follows your movement exactly like a real landscape seen through a real window would do. There are plenty of display images to chose from: the Golden Gate Bridge, underwater landscapes, even the Earth seen from space!
Mood Swings? Get a Color Changing Wall!
Choosing the color of your walls is difficult. There are so many different options, tones, variations… Not to mention that you might get tired of the color you chose in a heartbeat, and you will have to go through the process all over again. Change it! A revolutionary concept by the designer Amirko is the solution to all these problems.
Change it! allows you to change the color of your walls at will. How? It is a wall made out of turning triangles. Every face of the triangles has a different color: white, black and a rainbow colors gradient. So, according to your mood you can go from a dark, intimate room to a bright, cheerful rainbow-colored one in just a few minutes! The prototype is still in development and soon other colors will be available. Goodbye hard paint jobs and difficult decisions, decoration will soon be made easier, thanks to Amirko.
Somnus neu, the Bed of The Future
Somnus Neu is more than just a bed: it somewhere between a bed, a high-tech media center and a spaceship. To quote the Somnus Neu designers : one day, we will remember when we slept on something called “a bed”. When you look at all the futuristic features of the Somnus Neu, you have a tendency to believe them.
The Somnus Neu is equipped with an HD personal movie screen that drops down from its ceiling, an intelligent touch screen interface, an internal audio system with five inserted high-performance speakers, intelligent LED lighting that switch colors and turn on or off on command, automated privacy curtains that turn your Somnus Neu into a cozy, intimate cocoon you long to curl-up in under a big, fluffy comforter, not to mention its slick, futuristic, Star Trek kind of design. In fact, the Somnus Neu bed is so cool, its only downside is that you might never want to get out of it.
