Rosie, honestly, if you’ve made some of those miracles, I think you’ve already been nominated and given the award. 🙂
In all seriousness, though, I agree with you on so many levels, particularly on what “slut” means. I was never an “out there” kind of person, I always kept to myself and made very clear to the menfolk that I was quite uninterested, and in some ways, I think that’s something I missed out. There are so many things that we as females, especially in our teenaged years, that we are told not to want or enjoy, things that we’re told are “wrong,” and because of that, I feel that I’ve missed out in exploring a lot of sexuality that should have been explored. I think that our society today is so frightened about so many things that it’s getting completely out of hand, and I think that this is one reason why I’ve wanted to do burlesque, and pole dancing, and belly dancing, and all of that.
You touch on some very personal subjects in your videos, and I think that’s a really good thing. I also think some people would get very scared by that, too, which is very unfortunate. I’ve always been a very open person, and once I learn I can trust someone, I have no qualms about talking to them about things like sex, or sexuality. Some people seem put off by this, and never approach the subject, and some are all for it.
I really enjoy the idea that a “slut” is someone who really enjoys sex, and can create miracles and give other people incredible pleasure through sex. It’s a powerful thing, rather than a derogatory comment about being a “loose woman,” or a woman of loose moral judgement. Way to turn the term on it’s ear! 🙂
I thought your point on what makes a woman a slut or not was rather interesting. I would further posit that you are correct in that ‘slut’ is often assigned to a woman who enjoys sex, whereas the girls you describe giving head regularly in the back of cars sans enjoyment were actually ‘whores’ or ‘skanks’.
The Victorian era neatly trapped future generations into the belief that liking sex was wrong. Combine that with the religious intonations behind marriage (and also that marriage was a transfer of property from father to new husband) and a woman who enjoys sex becomes a serious threat to the power balance and stability of an undersexualized, repressed society.
Not only does she have the power to destabilize the fragile arrangement of passing daughter from father to husband, she also has the power invalidate a circumstantial and complex arrangement of power between man and woman trading in ‘underground’ sensuality.
Thanks for sharing your views on these topics RosieBitts!
I respect your openness.
I think it is so important to make sex (and everything associated with it) less of a taboo to discuss and talk about, and watching videos like yours helps with this movement.
We live in modern times where we should feel liberated enough as women to want to embrace our sexuality and sensuality.
Look forward to hearing and seeing more from you!
Thanks Lindsay!
I am always on a mission to open up communication about sexuality. We are sexual creatures, it is part of our biological makeup and I think that it is time for everyone, but women especially to embrace that:)
Thanks again for watching and responding!
