About Doug Taylor
Doug Taylor, Managing Director of Pacific Business Intelligence Ltd. is a motivational and results driven leader and a creative and lateral thinker/strategist with a wealth of senior level business experience domestically and internationally.
In addition to operating his consulting practice Doug is an Adjunct Professor in the Business Faculty at the University of Victoria. He has also taught at Royal Roads University, York University, the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and Seneca College in Canada and at Singapore Polytechnic and the Marketing Institute of Singapore in Singapore. He teaches international marketing, international trade-finance, international business management and strategic planning. Doug is also a noted public speaker on the process of international marketing/business development and SME technology business strategies. He is also a regular contributor to Douglas Magazine.
Doug is a former Director of the Forum for International Trade Training and was the founding Chair of the Greater Victoria Enterprise Partnership and the International Science & Technology Committee for the former Science Council of British Columbia. In the recent past he was a Director of the Vancouver Island Advanced Technology Centre, the British Columbia Biotech Alliance, the Association of Professional Economists of B.C., BCIT International Trade Advisory Committee. The Canada-Singapore Business Association, the Malaysia-Canada Business Council and the Canadian Institute for Climate Studies.
Doug holds a B.A. in Economics from Dalhousie University in Canada, an M.Sc. in Public International Law from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and a Diploma from the Canadian Securities Institute. He also holds the designation of Certified International Trade Professional, C.I.T.P.
