As hard as creating a new product to sell such as liquor, beer, e-juice, or fancy sparkling water that people want to buy is, getting them to want to buy it is even harder. You assume that if your product appeals to whatever senses it was created to appeal to that you should have no trouble selling it. The problem? You still have to get people to want to buy your product.
How do you get people to want to buy your product over every other product on the market? Well, it is all about the packaging. The packaging of your product needs to be so visually appealing that it draws them in over any other product on the shelf.
Let’s Look At A Few Examples
Picture yourself shopping for e-juice on Zamplebox. Instantly, you find yourself drawn to the traditional electronic juices. Why? Well, it probably has something to do with the very intricate works of art on the labels of the bottles. The art on these labels is so detailed it looks similar to what a person would get tattooed on their body.
Now, let’s picture yourself shopping for a bottle of rum. It’s going to be next to impossible for you to notice anything sitting on a shelf with a bottle of Don PaPa Rum. Why? Because the entire label is a gorgeous work of art.
Finally, there’s Shadow Beer. The label on this beer features a dark and mystical design. A closer look reveals the design is just a series of patterns. The patterns and designs used on the label of this beer work wonderfully and are extremely appealing because of how well they mesh with the name of the product.
What do these three products have in common? Simple – their packaging stands alone as gorgeous works of art.
So, What Have You Learned?
First, you need to do some research. Research for the perfect product label and packaging is compiled of a few different things. For starters, you need to learn more about your intended customers. This way you can pick a name that appeals to them.
Next, you need to figure out what kind of detailed design matches the name for the product you have chosen. This is going to require you to take a closer look at designs and artists in order to figure out what might work for you. You can do things like looking at the mosaic patterns of Samuel Rodriguez. Taking a closer look at the art of different artists can give you ideas on what kind of art you want on your packaging.
Finally, you have to consider packaging and labels to be art. The biggest mistake anyone can make is not looking at your product packaging as art. You just slap the name of your product and a few colors or weird shapes on it, and it sends the wrong message to your customers. Your product needs to have a detailed design that makes customers remember it.
In addition to making your product visually appealing to customers, packaging with detailed designs are memorable. This will put you in a position for a lot of word-of-mouth advertising in which customers are able to describe what your product looks like to their friends and family members.
For those who are still wondering why intricate graphic design on product packaging has become so popular, the answer is simple: it increases sales.
