For the common homeowner, keeping their garden and lawn green and lush is very important. It is just as important as cleaning the inside of the home and can have a profound effect on your property value. When done correctly, maintenance to your lawn does not require much effort and should be part of your weekly routine. Most maintenance to your lawn includes watering, trimming, and keeping pests off of your lawn. Though keeping your lawn and garden is relatively easy, it can become challenging when your garden is infected by different diseases or infections. One of the most common is Red Thread.
The first signs to look for are small patches of unusual looking grass. If left to grow, the grass will begin to infect healthy parts of your lawn and grow like wildfire. Fungicide is a great solution for the outgrowth of Red Thread. If caught early enough, the infection should not spread further. The fungicide will not harm the soil or the grass but only the parts of the grass that have been affected. If you put fertilizer that has nitrogen within it in your lawn, your grass can quickly recover from the effects of Red Thread and it will help it fight off future attacks.
Red Thread can be defeated by simply taking care of your garden and performing common inspections for unusual areas. If infection is noted, it is important for you to address the situation quickly and apply fungicide to the infected areas. Not only will this fungicide help treat the grass, but it will also help it fight future attacks. Red thread is an infection spread by fungus so it is important to keep your plants watered regularly, but do not over-water them especially during warm parts of the year. Red thread can be prevented easily if you just follow common tips for taking care of your lawn.
