The Griffon Vulture is a large Old World vulture. Attaining a wingspan of 2.3 to 2.8 m (7.5 to 9.2 ft) males can weigh up to 6.2 to 10.5 kg (14 to 23 lb), females weighing in at 6.5 to 11.3 kg (14 to 25 lb).
Living up to 41.4 years, the Griffon Vulture is a scavenger, feeding mostly one the carcasses of dead animals which it finds by soaring high above, often moving in flocks. They establish nesting colonies in cliffs offering coverage… and opportunity over wide open areas.
