Today let’s talk about defining the problem.
Have you ever felt like something was wrong in your life,
but you just couldn’t put your finger on what it was?
One of my favorite sayings is “Defining the problem is half the solution.” It’s a great saying for business, but I have found it even more useful in my personal life. I made the comment once that I grew up in an alcoholic family, but nothing much happened, and I got out OK. Later I discovered that was far from the truth. I grew up in a violent and unpredictable world, where arguing with my Dad over wanting to cut my hair like the Beatles led to a devastating experience. As I connected my adult behaviors with the events of my childhood, everything began to make more sense, and I could begin to do something about it.
Have you ever struggled to figure out what was really going on in your life?
