Many of the inventions of Star Trek are beginning to become reality. Gil Namur stumbled upon a mind-blowing one last week.
Last week, my good friend and fellow Trekkie Vivian sent me a video clip of something called a “3D Printer”. It’s as close to a Star Trek Replicator as I have ever seen. This incredible technology is manufactured by Z Corp.
Z Corporation (commonly abbreviated Z Corp.) is a manufacturer of 3D printers capable of printing multicolored parts, rapid prototyping machines that build plastic prototypes and 3D scanners. Z Corporation is headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts, USA. The company name relates to the z axis which adds depth to the other 2 axes x,y as does 3D printing. ~ Wikipedia
If you have not seen this yet, then get ready to see something that will blow your mind. It is truly amazing, and the possibilities it represents are mind boggling. This technology could go a long way towards solving many problems faced by humans.
Now, I wonder if it can replicate a good Shiraz?

That is more than amazing it is down right scary. Next we will be saying “Beam me up to my son’s garden”, and within nano time (not even seconds obviously,) this old gal will be a-travellin’ as a powdered being. I may sneeze a lot when I arrive, but I expect you will have tissue hankies ready.
