Quiet … peace … nothing …
Silent blissful solace
Then an event of unprecedented proportion
A spark … a flash …energy
Absolute chaos
Endless expansion … endless space
Time … millennia … countless eons
Breath … life … consciousness
Me
I am … I think … I feel
I wonder about it all
I am the universe come to consider itself
To ask the question
Who am I? Is this all that I am? Is this all that there is?
I look for order and find none
Small wonder, we were born of chaos
But once I looked hard enough I found great beauty in the chaos
Why is knowing that not enough?
Why do I bleed inside?
When does it end?
So much to say, so many questions
So much to give, so many who need
Would that I could give more
For the greatest I can receive is in the giving
But then does knowing that mean that the act of giving is now a selfish act?
Oh boy … I better CLEAR THE MECHANISM
Quiet … peace … nothing …
Silent blissful solace
Then a predictable event
The phone rings ….
Life goes on

Hi Gil,
I really enjoyed your observations in Life Goes On… very thoughtful with great insight. And, in the end, what else can we do? With acceptance comes great wisdom. Thank you very much for sharing yours!

Impressive ! How small words stringed together produce metaphysics !
I enjoyed this poem. It is pregnant with existential angst and for a moment disturbed me out of my common complacence.
Gil Namur says
Thanks Shruti!

As I read this poem of yours on your music website a sense of stillness and peace befilled me. For it is within the silence between the notes in which music is born. When we are able to BE within this silence, it speaks to us of the heart, of love, of an inner knowing of what IS. Life may go on, and at the same moment as life goes on there remains a calmness and stillness within the flow of it all if we but simply choose this to be so. ~Nenari

Thanks Nenari,
I am glad that this touched you and I grateful for your words 🙂
To be … within the silence … I shall have to write on this!
Cheers,
Gil
