Annie Leonard explains why “designed for the dump” electronics are toxic to people and the planet … and what to do about it.
Hard to upgrade, easy to break, and impractical to repair, most of the electronic products we use are “designed for the dump”—made to be perpetually replaced, not to last.
Annie Leonard, the creator of The Story of Stuff, The Story of Cap & Trade, The Story of Cosmetics, and The Story of Bottled Water, is at it again, explaining why this cycle creates unnecessary consumerism and pollutes our Earth with toxic chemicals. Annie has partnered with the Electronics TakeBack Coalition to show us how we can get electronics corporations to stop externalizing the costs of toxins and accept responsibility for their e-waste.
