“The shell must break before the bird can fly.” Alfred Tennyson, The Ancient Sage 1884. Perhaps you can relate to Tennyson’s quote. Has it happened to you?
Still Life Is Not So Still
My explorations as an Artist have lead me to determine that style is a trap of limitations. Change & reinvention lead to resolution. The path of human life does not have to be limited by external expectations but can be as self determined, and varied as any individual wants it to be, and still maintain, focus and purpose.
Fortschritt (Progression) of Rusty Cars
I love working with rust. You start out with grey iron drained in acrylic, and it’s not until a few days later through oxidation that you can see the final result, which is always surprising and out of my control.
Abstraction
Kyudo, which literally means The Way of the Bow, is considered by many to be the purest of all the martial ways. In the past, the Japanese bow was used for hunting, war, court ceremonies, games, and contests of skill. Planets & Constellations of the Heart
A survivor of a traumatic brain injury that occurred at age ten Bredimus relates, “After the accident visual language became my first language and primary mode of expression, solidifying my life in the visual arts”.
Integration of Casual Primitive Means with Discerning Modern Ends
Automatism is a prerequisite for the initial phase, without conscious direction, the next and final phase takes place when cutting edge techniques are applied, visually interpreting and treating the original drawing with contemporary tools.
In Pursuit of Originality
One of the artist’s favorite memories was watching a blind man experience his work for the 1st time. As the man ran his hands over a large 3-dimensional portrait tediously constructed with 10’s of thousands of screws over 100’s man hours, his blank expression suddenly transformed into a warm smile.
CELEBRATING THE SPIRIT OF WOMEN
My work explores the essence of beauty. It can be found in both the powerful aesthetic of glamour and the charm of imperfection. My objective is to find a balance between realistic representation and interpretive impressions meant to communicate the feeling and mood of the piece.
Aspects of Love
Have you ever met someone who changed the way you looked at the world? The person might have never expressed their perspective, but somehow walking beside them shows you a world you never would have seen. Something about them makes you want to be a better person, to achieve more, to be more positive.
How I Found “The Way of the Brush”: PART 2: Creativity as a Guiding Light
At the end of the weekend, we each shared our self portrait. I was one of the last to share. I put it up, and the room went silent. I thought, OMG, what is wrong…it must be awful and no one likes it. I was mortified.
