In the touristic quarter of Old Montreal, in an area coveted by artists, a dark gallery covered with jarring colors seduces the eye. It’s a Fine Art photography gallery where flora and fauna are delivered in all their raw, stunning colorful beauty.
The Mourning Period
I have a love for abandoned houses and other slightly melancholy places, and I frequently use them as locations in many of my photos. By using discarded decorative flowers that once sat on graves in a local cemetery, I made small bouquets that I then arranged in various areas around the house.
Bald is Beautiful
Notions of regal crowns mixed with lotus flowers, signalling rebirth from darkness, mark this photograph of local cancer survivor, Lesley Hughes, and so they should: this was the day we celebrated Lesley’s courage and beautifully (nearly) bald femininity through the application of a henna crown.
Haunting Memories of Years Past
The memory of the past is haunting to me because I experience the later part of it. The old style of going to the movie and enjoying the person you were with and maybe seeing less but enjoying more. Black and white screen even when most movies were in color in my time.
Boar Behaviour in the Pyrenees
As if his daytime visits weren’t surprise enough, one morning he began taking a very un-boarlike interest in our football which he started pushing around with his nose. It didn’t take long for him to begin shoving it vigorously, seemingly astonished at how far it went. In fact, his extraordinarily playful nature became the biggest surprise of all.

Don’t Hide, Go Seek. Seek more. Do more. Be more. Don’t let life slip through your fingers. Don’t stay in the dark when the light is just outside you door. Discover who you are and who you are meant to be. We get one chance in this body, don’t let it go to waste.
Days at the Races
Thermopylae had its 300, Indianapolis has its 500. And the latter is still going strong. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway hosts the world’s most watched single day sporting event, the Indy 500 but the “Brickyard” as it is affectionately known, also hosts NASCAR, Moto GP, and Grand Prix races.
The Energy Within
I really can’t predict where my next image will come from. When I find an old building, a fishing boat, or items no longer used or discarded I can’t help but think of all the people, the lives that would have been in contact with the rooms, boats or items.
Luminous Tulips
This image, like the other two presented here, is a digital art image, based on a photograph, then manipulated on the computer, to result in a fanciful depiction of tulips grown in my garden.
Zig Motion and Movement
I chose Zig motion because it is rare and appeals to me. To see movement in an uncommon way- it adds to our vision and causes you brain to report a new influence.
