WORLD MEDIATION SUMMIT – MADRID; SPAIN
July 1 – 4, 2014
I attended the 1st World Mediation Summit in Madrid, Spain and would like to report on the Summit. The inviting ambiance of our Spanish hosts at the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, coupled with magnificent weather and terrific Spanish food provided the perfect setting for discussing mediation, alternative dispute resolution and opportunities being provided for conflict resolution by modern technological advances.
The Summit met its objectives of dealing with conflicts of international interest, ranging from ongoing wars to local disputes. The Summit also provided avenues for networking to its participants.
Highlights included presentations by the Ambassadors for Palestine and Egypt as well as presentations from mediation providers around the world including the Saint Lucia (Eastern Caribbean), India, Europe, the United States, Canada and Australia.

Spanish Ambassadors from Palestine and Egypt – July, 2014
The four day Summit witnessed a worldwide family of people devoted to pursuing mediation as a method of conflict resolution. The cornerstone has been placed. It is anticipated that future Summits will continue to build the mediation alternative for the resolution of international and domestic disputes.
