Today let’s talk about upset stomachs.
Ever had one?
I did for years, and thought it was all a physical ailment. Then as I started working on my issues from growing up in an alcoholic family, I realized my upset stomach was something I had first experienced in the turbulence and uncertainty of the violent household. I would sit in my room listening to my parents argue late at night, wondering if I was going to be sucked into that chaos. No wonder I couldn’t eat much dinner and my stomach had butterflies all the time. As an adult, reacting to life the same way, my stomach was always knotted and tense. As I have worked through those issues, I have been surprised to see my upset stomach fade away, and a lot of my other physical symptoms resolve themselves as well. What a freedom!
Have you ever suffered constant upset stomachs from emotional turbulence?
