Today let’s talk about being responsible.
Have you ever felt like you were being too responsible?
Taking care of things that other people should be dealing with for themselves? I remember taking on projects that other people should be doing, and then becoming resentful about the burden. That I had volunteered to take on! Like the time my girlfriend had a birthday party for her Dad. I begged to help, and worked hard one weekend mowing her yard, cleaning up her flowerbeds, and becoming resentful – why didn’t she hire a yard service? As a child growing up in an alcoholic family I learned to be overly responsible, and carried that over into adulthood. Once I began to not do for others what they could do for themselves, life got easier, and I wasn’t generating resentments for myself.
Have you ever felt like you were taking on too much responsibility?
