A few days ago, our former Editor In Chief Kerry Slavens posted a beautiful video on her Facebook wall called ‘Terra Sacra Time Lapses – Sacred Earth Around the World‘. Kerry says: “This amazing time lapse photography video features the photography of Sean White of Victoria. It will affirm your wonder for the beauty of this planet.”
Great share Kerry!
If you have not seen this video, you really should. I had seen small portions of it before, but never the whole piece. When I saw it on her Facebook wall, it reminded me of another amazing video called ‘All Alone in the Night’ which is also time-lapse footage of the Earth, as seen from the International Space Station. I could wax poetic about this … but as they say, a picture (or in this case a video) is worth a thousand words.
Enjoy our living planet … as seen from space!

Thanks for this brilliant view of our home, Gil. Cities hugging shorelines, lightning punching the sky, the aurora borealis in all its waves of wonder. Remarkable and humbling.

Thanks for sharing this, Kerry and Gil. An inspiring reminder of a timeless planet.

Hey Gil, I’m glad you passed this beautiful video on. Everytime I see it, I reflect that In the “fight” to save the planet, it’s important to hold the vision of its beauty and not get lost in despair, which is so easy to do.
