October 11th is the International Day of the Girl Child.
I started to ponder a few things.
- If I had been born a boy would I have achieved more or less?
- If Jesus had been a daughter what would the world be like today?
- What if Adam had said “No thanks, I don’t fancy any fruit”?
- What if Mary had not been portrayed as a virgin?
- What if Mohammed had not taken a 6 year old bride and consummated the marriage when she was 9?
- Would I still be alive today if I was born in the Middle East or Asia and would my personality have been the same?
- What if a baby girl born anywhere in the world today had the same rights as a boy?
If only we could re-write history. But I guess we can, because history starts today!
