About Christopher Holt
Christopher Holt is a photographer, blogger, poet and roadie of the mind who seeks through his work to illuminate the human experience. His travels to the American Southwest, Italy, France, Mexico and various parts of Canada and more have helped shape his views of humanity and the planet we live on. He is the author of A Year of Sitting: a Zen Journal. From the stillness of Zen to the melancholy of graveyards to the surreal transcendence of Vegas and the Burning Man festival, Chris' writing and photography teases light from dark places and casts questioning shadows into our myths and beliefs. Chris lives in Victoria, British Columbia with his wife, daughter, parrot, special needs cats and a Basset Hound. He grew up in Vancouver's Coal Harbour on a boat during the late 60s and 70s, the child of two hippies. His youth on the docks, with Stanley Park as his backyard, shaped his imagination and fueled his belief that life is best lived lightly, and needs no bill of sale.
