Brunswick House – Bloor & Brunswick, Toronto

I remember when Ye Olde Brunswick House had cheap beer and burritos were delivered to your table by a non-Mexican in a sombrero. Bless the diversity of Canada and Toronto the Good. Best of all was ‘Rockin’ Irene’, an elderly woman who sang raunchy old bar songs at the Saturday afternoon jams. Alas, Ye Olde Brunswick House has lost its original charm. It has a full course menu and has gone trendy but the beautiful building has withstood the sands of time and is one of Toronto’s oldest establishments.
