Minute to Freedom #48: Finding Hope

Today let’s talk about finding hope.

Has it ever seemed like things were just going to stay the same, and that wasn’t good?

When I started facing the effects of growing up in an alcoholic family, I had given up hope of ever changing the problems that made my life unhappy. I never thought I would figure out where those problems even came from. I didn’t fully realize how hopeless I had become until much later. Yet when I walked into a room where they described the personality characteristics of growing up in an alcoholic household I finally knew somebody understood, and I felt a glimmer of hope. By addressing my problems, beginning to find solutions, and seeing changes in my world, it allowed me to feel very hopeful for the first time in a long while, and what a freedom that was!

Have you ever struggled to find hope in your world?
