I've been following the research coming out on this topic too. I think Nick's explanation for the results (day to day tasks came front-of-mind when responding, not the big-picture) is definitely plausible. But I also wonder about the term "happiness" -- it can be defined in so many different ways, and often does depend on context. For instance, if you asked me right now what would makes me feel happy, I might say "nailing a great lead for a story" or "being able to sit quietly with a coffee and read the newspaper." But if you asked me right now what makes my life fulfilling, what gives it purpose, I'd say "my children and my husband."

Your little guy is lucky to have such an engaged and happy Mom! :)
