Most of the major cities I've been to have done parks and greenspace very well. What is not always done so well is the public transportation it takes to get there. I believe we have a deep need, as human animals, for contact with nature. I love living next to a regional park with forest trails, and within walking distance of, or a short bus trip to, beaches. Community gardens can also provide a wonderful opportunity for city dwellers to have contact with the earth and growing things.
