I have no sympathy for wait-staff who can't write down a simple order-- and I worked at Starbucks for 2 years, I'm no stranger to needless modifications to very simple food/drink items. If you work in the service industry, suck it up, because you're supposed to offer customer service. Whew, that feels better. Apparently I need to thoroughly vent my frustrations at food service staff. I shouldn't get rolling eyes every time I ask for something to be prepared specifically. My usual strategy when I go out to eat: 1) Find the thing on the menu I can eat with the fewest modifications. 2) Order it <i>every single time</i>. 3) Frequent the restaurant to the point that the waitstaff starts preparing my order as soon as I walk in the door. 4) Yes I am awesome. Seriously, of the four restaurants The Ex and I visited on a regular basis, I don't think I ever strayed from my usual order at any of them. As a result, I almost never sent anything back -- and sometimes our regular status would net us a free dessert, or at least awesome service! Ha, worry not. I rarely put The Ex through that ordeal.
