Here’s an article in this month’s Fast Company that gives me the willies. I can’t believe it’s true. It details a Mexican city’s plan to install iris scanning devices throughout the city for security reasons.
The city of Leon wants to be the most secure city in the world. With all the drug wars and warlords running around this is a laudable idea, I suppose, but something in the ubiquitous presence of iris scanning will strip privacy from the lexicon of a free society. This is the movie Minority Report coming true. This is, interestingly enough, a partnership between a technology company (Global Rainmakers) and the city of Leon.
“In the future, whether it’s entering your home, opening your car, entering your workspace, getting a pharmacy prescription refilled, or having your medical records pulled up, everything will come off that unique key that is your iris,” says Jeff Carter, CDO of Global Rainmakers.
Before coming to GRI, Carter headed a think tank partnership between Bank of America, Harvard, and MIT. “Every person, place, and thing on this planet will be connected [to the iris system] within the next 10 years,” he says.
He is probably correct and it won’t be long before your eye is your wallet.
Read the whole story here …and bring your eyes.

Yep the security state is evolving quickly. The infrastructure behind the scenes has been laid with the cooperation of Osama and his funders and now it’s time to start implementing the control technologies. With the pace of technological adoption and change, we will be iris scanning to walk into our bank within a few years. And you will not have a choice. Welcome to the new world order.
